About

Hello! My name is Luke Meihack. I am 23 years old and am married to my wife, Brooke. I grew up in Fond du Lac, WI, where I attended Winnebago Lutheran Academy. While at WLA, I competed in Soccer, Wrestling, and Baseball, finding success in Soccer and Wrestling. I was a two-time All-Conference athlete during my soccer career and competed in the State Championship game in 2016, losing in double overtime to Racine St. Catherine’s. I scored 36 goals and recorded 22 assists during that season, earning Unanimous First Team All-Conference, Area Player of the Year, and Honorable Mention All-State. In wrestling, I qualified for the WIAA State Tournament twice. I suffered two severe injuries that would cause me to miss the State Tournament (Sophomore year – torn meniscus) (Senior Year – broken fibula). Nevertheless, I won the conference tournament three times and broke nearly every record in exitsence at Winnebago Lutheran Academy. I graduated from WLA in 2017.

After Winnebago Lutheran Academy, I went to Martin Luther College, where I roomed with my great friend, Joe Herrewig. I played soccer and was awarded Honorable Mention all UMAC. I played soccer my Sophomore and Junior years but was never fully recovered from an ankle injury I suffered in 2018.

Immediately following my Freshman exam week, I flew to Beijing, China, for my first international trip ever. I was offered the opportunity through MLC’s “Daylight” program. They paid for nearly the entire trip and took us around Hangzhou and Beijing, China, for two weeks.

During my Sophomore year at MLC, my roommate, Jacob Borgwardt, and I decided to go to Europe over Spring Break. Being our first time in Europe, we didn’t know what to expect. When all was said and done, we went to Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, France, Belgium, and Holland.

I loved China so much that I decided to go back after my Sophomore year of college. This time, I stayed for six weeks. I was fortunate enough to stay in a four-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in a Chinese high-rise, a true luxury. Throughout this trip, I was forced to make money by teaching English free-lance. I also became quite comfortable speaking Chinese, having taken two years of instruction at MLC.

During Spring Break 2020, Brooke and I decided to go to Europe together. It was here that we got engaged, and the start of our married lives began. Brooke and I did an unbelievable amount of traveling in this short time. We traveled to Denmark, Germany, England, Scotland, France, Italy, The Vatican, San Marino, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Austria. The only reason we came back, in fact, was because of the pressure put on Americans to return to the country because of the “new” Covid-19 pandemic.

The Summer of 2021 was my busiest yet. Matt and I traveled to the Dominican Republic and Brooke and I got married on August 6. We honeymooned on a cruise that took us from Miami to Nassau.

Since my grandpa, Emeritus Professor Marvin Meihack, lives in New Ulm yet, Brooke and I are living in grandma and grandpa’s basement this year in an attempt to save whatever little money we have remaining. Since our arrival, grandma has been put in the nursing home in Sleepy Eye, and oh, Brooke and I are going to have a baby! August 29, 2022.
